šŸ’” What’s the difference between FP16 and FP32 checkpoints?

FP16 (half precision) uses 16-bit floating-point weights. It’s smaller in size, loads faster, and uses less VRAM - perfect for normal image generation. You won’t notice any visual difference for inference, so it’s ideal for everyday use.

FP32 (full precision) uses 32-bit weights, which means it’s larger and heavier on resources. It doesn’t improve generation quality, but it’s better if you’re training, merging, or fine-tuning models, since it keeps the exact weight data without rounding loss.

    🧠 Prompting

    Example negative prompt:

cartoon, illustration, anime, painting, CGI, 3D render, low quality, watermark, logo, label

    or use CyberRealistic Negative

    ✨ Optional Adetailer

    Adetailer model: face_yolov9c.pt
If you only want the main face being refined set 'Mask only the top k largest' to 1.

So you dropped the whole color balance to trashbin:))) I think, its not worth the time to bother with it.

What would be good training on booru tags, poses to be coherent, like your pony.

Not at all. I didn’t drop the color balance. It’s actually still there, just adjusted based on feedback and the new direction of the model. The goal was to refine it, not discard it.

    devronandersenJul 1, 2025

So, its like nothing happened:) Not a big deal, you can adjut these parameters. Bigger problem, its still hard to prompt coherent sex scenes. Booru tags dont work, sentences, like fucked by man, man fucking girls, penis in xy are working, but with too much error.

Best realistic checkpoint on all civitai. Pony and illustrious just cannot do high quality realistic photos.

glad you stuck to the sdxl architecture & a quick glance at the traction you have w/ your models right now tells me you don't regret it. gonna give this version a spin now!

Flux could be good but it's so expensive to train!

    jmuellerJul 2, 2025Ā· 1 reaction

base flux is ok for what it is and now fast too with the nunchaku svd quant thing - bit of a hassle to install and dial in tho. (and the fact that you need a special lora loader for it makes selecting the 10 million flux loras available a huegpain). still, when the clothes come off, flux isn't the right tool (imo). chroma shows a lot of potential for certain content but we'll have to see where it ends up eventually. tl;dr, hello sdxl. : D

    @WhyNaNWhenNyanĀ so demanding to run too ;_;

I was really enjoying using 5.8 and getting good results on the online generator. Then it became an 'unavailable resource'. I switched to 6 and all was good - except faces. I really struggled. All my faces looked like they had a hair lip or something. The fix was to keep the CFG really low, like 2. It doesn't seem to affect the ability to follow the prompt, but accept the defaults (4 for creative or 7 for balanced) and the faces get ugly...

first line of the description: "it's not just x, it's y"

    xD

    myfriendshawnJul 29, 2025

AI literally can't not use the "it's not X, it's Y" (or any number of variations) framing device. I have so many instructions/rules and memories saved telling it to not do it, and it almost always slips through. 🤪

    janedoe1239874560Jul 30, 2025

myfriendshawnĀ that's probably cause there's no "negatives" equivalent for text generation like there is for images, so if you prompt it not to do something it just gets added into the context lol

How did you get cars to work so well in this SDXL? It knows old stuff particularly well like brands, models, years, and even rather obscure cultural and regional stuff that I have not seen in any other SDXL I have tried.

This is the best model. Minimal distortion on faces even when they aren't the main focus, excellent skin details, lighting and overall composition, and greater prompt understanding compared to any other. It's also not heavily defaulted to NSFW, which for me is super annoying, but does it really well when prompted.

Any thoughts about making a turbo or lightning version of this magnificent model?

    MirandoPaCuencaAug 9, 2025Ā· 4 reactions

Why? Use the LORA 'dmd2_sdxl_4step_lora_fp16', which you can download from this link:

    https://civitai.com/models/1608870?modelVersionId=1820946

It's used like any other LORA. You set the CFG value to 1 and the steps to 8.

    Sampling method: LCM

    Schedule type: Exponential

    And enjoy!

MirandoPaCuencaĀ Oh wow I didn't know this existed. Thank you.

    antionesun101Aug 19, 2025

Only model, which is good with dmd is Biglove, other ones are extremely undetailed with it.

    MirandoPaCuencaAug 21, 2025

@antionesun101Ā Not in my experience, but ok. I'm very satisfied, maybe I'm not as demanding like you in my generations.

    jashunmoritz947Aug 27, 2025

@MirandoPaCuencaĀ I generate detailed clothes with different materials, thats where dmd lacks. There is just not enough detail, or its unfinished(because of low cfg and steps).

@jashunmoritz947 @MirandoPaCuenca I haven’t really looked into DMD2 properly yet – but you only use it to get faster results, right? My tests weren’t that great, so I didn’t really pursue it any further. I’m trying to get the best out of my checkpoints, and a DMD2 version feels like a step backwards to me. Or am I completely wrong here?

    jashunmoritz947Aug 27, 2025

@CyberdeliaĀ No. You are right. Dmd works with 8-12 steps and cfg1-1.3 the best.

    Positive: fast, more realistic

Negative: lacks of details, less adherence

    MirandoPaCuencaAug 27, 2025

@CyberdeliaĀ No, you're right. Obviously, you can't achieve the same level of detail with 8 steps and a CFG of 1 as with 40 steps and a CFG of 6 or 7. But in my case, with a 3GB VRAM GPU, waiting several minutes for each image seems like an eternity. That's why I decided to use DMD2 since I found out about it. As I said above, I'm not that particular about detail. Just being able to generate images with my GPU, I already consider myself lucky hahahaha.

@MirandoPaCuencaĀ Got it! Totally see why you’re using DMD2 versions šŸ™‚

    ElectricDreamsAug 27, 2025Ā· 1 reaction

@antionesun101Ā Simply not true. BL is great but there's a lot of dmd2 checkpoints with excellent iq.

    Gaydevai_pauloAug 27, 2025

@CyberdeliaĀ I often use DMD2, it removes certain details, but sometimes it seems that SDXL would be better if it didn't add these details, especially when it comes to landscapes. SDXL often adds illogical or buggy details. The pictures with DMD2 seem simpler, but there are fewer errors. Also, DMD2 gives good skin detail. And in general, small details seem sharpnes

    Cyberdelia
    Author
    Aug 27, 2025

@Gaydevai_pauloĀ More skin detail is probably due to the low CFG (?).
For example, if you give CyberRealistic SDXL a low CFG (e.g. 1.5), you’ll likely get somewhat that effect as well (only skin detail is already perfect)
    I made a sample post: https://civitai.com/posts/21478356
    First image CFG 1.5
    Second image CFG 4.

    ElectricDreamsAug 27, 2025

@Gaydevai_pauloĀ DMD2 gives better anatomy and the outputs are more "photographically" realistic. On the bad side, if you convert a pony checkpoint to dmd2 it will lose a lot of the cartoon aesthetics. DMD2 is best suited for photorealistic checkpoints. The only serious con of dmd2 is that you can't train loras on it. Most of people use 8 steps but recommended is 12 or 14 steps (yes, there's a huge improvement in quality from 8 to 12).
