Yes, there will be many versions. And no, I’m not stopping. I know not everyone loves that, and honestly, it doesn’t keep me up at night. Models don’t improve on their own, and standing still is the same as falling behind. So buckle up and enjoy the ride.

CyberRealistic Z-Image Turbo Catalyst is part of the Catalyst experimental line - a dedicated space for targeted experiments that go beyond.

This build focuses on three specific areas:

    • Character LoRA compatibility: better integration and less drift

    • Skin & color rendering: refined skin tones and overall color behavior

    • Bug fixes: corrections for known issues

Why Catalyst and not a new Z-Image Turbo version? These changes are experimental by nature. Rather than folding unproven adjustments into the mainline release, Catalyst exists as a separate track so the standard release stays stable while this build gets real-world testing. Think of it as the skunkworks branch.

The first release in the Catalyst line. This initial build focuses on improved compatibility with a wider range of LoRAs, alongside skin, color, and bug fix improvements carried over from the standard Z-Image Turbo.
If you find LoRA compatibility to be lacking in this version, you may want to try V0.7, which in some cases offers more stable LoRA performance.

This is the best fine-tuning of Zi to date—it stays true to her style and doesn't turn her into just another version of Pony/Illustrious like 99% of the other finetuned models (because they train them on AI-generated images with that shiny, plastic-looking skin and ruin the whole zi style). Great job! Hopefully we'll see a slightly spicy version in the future.

    Thanks! Appreciated.

Regarding the shiny/plastic look in other models - it's probably not caused by AI-generated training material but more likely a conflict between multiple LoRAs that were used. With this model I really looked at my training data for conflicts and where needed pulled the tuning down a notch. I also left out certain elements that are present in for example version 4.0. You mentioned wanting something spicier. This model is quite NSFW capable, but I didn't include any explicit NSFW sample images because at this point we all know most models can handle that. Enough is enough. 😉

@Cyberdelia I guess you're right, but it really pisses me off to see those 'spicy' finetunes and come across an Illustrious/Pony Realistic v2. They completely ruin the skin textures and the great aesthetics that ZIT has.

How does this model behave when training a LoRA of a character on it? Do you think it will work well? I suppose the 'training adapterV2' from aitoolkit will still be necessary for training, right? Have you done any tests with steps/optimizer/number of images, etc.? Thanks for the reply!

@Zenpand in Aitoolkit use the default zit model. I always use default models when training a LoRa for a character.
