Do you have any recommendations for LoRA training of characters?
Tried this model with same configuration as example images, i get distorted faces or hands. I use DrawThings and it needs to import model as ckpt format. It seems it does not work well with this one, most of the checkpoints from the site works just fine.
For some reason it works better w/o your embeddings
I'm using v1.1 with Drawthings with a Hi-res of 1280x1856. I've found the best way to fix the face distortion is to use Cyber realistic v6.5 as a refiner.
@QH96Ā well, I tried w/o refiner at ll, i Just run a script to fix face with inpainting (Single Detailer)
V1.3
- faces are hit or miss (distinctive look)
- eyes and lashes need some improvement
but i think you're on a good way, just needs some improvement. imo the best realistic illust Model so far
Thanks for the feedback. , Work on Next working is in progress, We will look into all these improvements.
thanks
Thanks for good job but 1.3 fp32 version is not good as before version. Like this, https://imgur.com/a/glotrFm of course bad image is newer version. :) Anyway, I appreciate the effort and hope for better development. :D
Thanks for the feedback, I will make sure next version solves this issue. š
This is still the best realistic Illustrious model. Itās surprising how much better Illustrious performs compared to Pony, even though both are based on SDXL.
Works great with 8-step Hyper LoRA, CFG from 1 to 2, Eular A SGM Uniform, Hi-res of 1280x1856 at 0.4 denoise. CyberRealistic v6.5 as optional refiner. Face A-detailer may sometimes be needed.

Thanks for the Feedback and Experiments.š
Why the hell are you using score_x prompting in Illustrious though? That's for Pony.
@kanareika1Ā Hell Yeah, this model ignores these tags. No Worry's. If you want to be extra cautions clean these prompts before you use. I have to generate thousands of images each day, i am sorry i cant clean all prompts. "Sincere Apologies"
@kanareika1Ā Because i'm using a Pony model (CyberRealistic v6.5) as a refiner.
Anyone who talking about refiner - if you have so much VRAM so you can load 2 models, this and CyberRealistic as same time - why just not use FLUX?
Which VAE we take with Automatic1111 ?
@velantegĀ because FLUX is trained on a completely different dataset and is clunky and slow to use right now?
The sydney sweeney model haha
Thanks for the feedback, I will make sure next version solves this issue. š
@Stable_YogiĀ absolute legend, keep up the amazing work
It makes great bodies and follows the prompts well, but it really struggles with faces, I can't get anything decent out of it
Thanks for the feedback, I will make sure next version solves this issue. š
Did you try the 1.1 version? It done the same thing for me when I tried using the 1.3 version, but the 1.1 version is far better
@Zuriel89Ā I'll give it a go and see what happens
The 1.3 version has seen significant improvements, particularly in terms of realistic and the plausibility of the background. But compared to V1.1, characters generated by V1.3 are seem too be a little too Western-oriented. I used prompts "Tifa \(FF series\)" while the face of character still looks like a westerner.
Still, good job.
Thanks for the Feedback.
V1.3_FP16 looks better than V1.1_FP16 in nearly every single way except for the faces, especially the eyes. I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong but I can't get the eyes to look good on 1.3, even with ADetailer they still look bad. Anyone else having this problem?
V1.1 still looks amazing though, it's by far my favorite Illustrious model
I've found 1.1 has a preference for asian faces, but 1.3 has a preference for one very specific face. Maybe a bit over-tuned on that. It happens. Still appreciate the authors' effort!
@karetaiĀ sydney sweeney
Thanks Next version will be better, working on it.
I wonder if a lora for realism would work as well as a full checkpoint
I've tried that with countless checkpoints and Loras, it never worked as well as a Realistic Checkpoint.
Just a personal experience.
Here's an example of realistic LoRA made by extracting the changes of a realistic model from its base model.
https://civitai.com/models/777652/real-dream-extracted-lora?modelVersionId=869746
Lora's are ONLY effective if trained on large data set. Chokepoint's are always better.
@QH96Ā You are correct but, that is a PONY Lora not effective with Illustrious.
Incredible
Thanks for the feedback. ā¤
