Dear rMada, are you absolutely sure this is your original idea? How can you explain the appearance of your VAE on the site two days after I added my Tone Range Compressor VAE with exactly the same idea?
I wasn't familiar with your VAE, but it seems to me that the idea is very similar. The idea came from several VAEs that generated images with greater clarity (like clearvae, for example), and I thought it was a good idea to apply this clarity to improve the histogram by making the blacks less intense to obtain more detail. If you'd like, I can add a link in the description and in the article to your VAE for the community to test it as another option. I don't know when I published it, but I had been working on the pack (checkpoint, vae, loras,...) for a while.
not to throw fuel on the fire... and I have no idea if rMada saw your idea or not.... but conceptually... as a rule of thumb... it shouldn't matter. this is LITERALLY the point of open source public stuff. people DO take ideas, copy, adjust them. usually folks make some small adjustments.... but even if someone blatantly copies... there's no recourse. we fought against corporations cause they keep their proprietary stuff clutched close like pearls.. and we wanted open source... this is the reverse of that and we have to accept it. don't like it? welcome to go back to closed source, corporations keeping secrets. (not speaking to you directly. just saying as a concept). by using open source, we agree we absolve ourselves of any aspirations to "credit" for our work. (and trust me I get the feeling, I'm not arguing that... in fact I'd feel same... just saying... conceptually.. that's the GOAL of open source stuff)
Hey quick question. How does one make their own VAE? I have been trying to make my own and wanting to make one for a while but i can't find a resource or tutorial per say to make on. Can you drop some knowledge on how to make one?

@rMada Can you please temp upload this to somewhere else? I get a VAE not found error when downloading from Civitai.
This was a known issue (Civitai fixed it). VAE is working again!
Would be my favorite if not for the strange bright spots. They're small but they're noticable

I want to create one for SDXL, because we have the same issue there. And NOBODY trained a vae yet...
I love this VAE a lot. It produces way better images. It has just one issue that the encoder was finetuned, causing artifacts to sometimes appear when using it with existing models since the latent space was modified. If you could retrain the decoder with a frozen encoder, it would work flawlessly!
