Igor Sidorenko Style Lora trained on/for PonyXL and all its merges.
All example images were generated using KestenXL checkpoint.
*The overwhelming thiccness, the sheer girth and roundness prevalent in the example images stems from the checkpoint, not the style. Just to clarify, if anyone is wondering about discrepancies between their results and the examples.
Personally, I find this style incredibly appealing. Very dark and gritty, and considering that Mr. Sidorenko has worked as a concept artist on both Diablo and Warhammer 40K, it is no wonder.
I tried training several models, a LoRA, and two LoCons, but there is still some problems with output images, I just seem to always find something lacking, but I assume the reason here might be stemming from PDXL being the base model. I might try an SDXL version in the future. And before you ask, yes, I've tried a Flux one and it is terrible. I suspect the problem's with my knowledge (or lack thereof) and approach towards LoRA training on Flux, but all of my attempts at making a model based on it have ended with mediocre and overly generic models which I can't, in any circumstance, call "good". I just don't seem to see the appeal of Flux. Again, most likely due to my ignorance, but I simply do not have the hardware to "eyeball" or "trial and error it, bro". And while civit's training service is nice, a 2000 absolute minimum of cost is rather steep for "experiment, lol". That "50% off" awhile back was also hilarious. I know I am bad at math, but 0.5*2000 does not equal 2000. But, unnecessary tangent, am I right bros?
This model will possibly end up being a first in a series I plan on doing. I intend to explore the Warhammer universes (both Fantasy and 40,000) and try to make models that produce good space marines, Tyranids, Aeldari, etc. This current model can do that, but because we also have a lot of diablo concept art in the dataset, it tends to jumble them together. Maybe cool, maybe not, this is an artist style after all and it's main focus is colors, shading, texture, etc.
*Helmets. Helmets nowhere. For some reason the model just cannot understand what a helmet is, and that Astartes usually wear them. Because, you know, having a helmet when you are a super soldier stuck in a perpetual war on a cosmic scale is useful, but Pony seems neigh impossible to grasp that.
**For some great models based on the Fantasy side of Warhammer (Total War Warhammer) you can go to RMFAN.
