Why with exactly the same settings, just changing a ControlNet Image, causes rendering different pictures?

I’m using some settings for rendering pictures of a couple. This includes a ControlNet image. The sampler is DPM++ 2m SDE (Karras). If I just change a ControlNet image, I expect to have the same / very similar persons on pictures, but I get often absolutely different. Could it be due to the change of ControlNet image? In other words, does ControlNet image have any influence on faces, age, clothes, etc. of persons on images or it only have impact on their pose?
@Marissa maybe check the control net model. each different model has different influences on the gen
