i have been enjoying it, so just thought i would push and let everyone try it as well. i still think, overall, version 0.2 is better. but for strong, dramatic lighting, give this one a try!
better backgrounds. in general i have noticed the backgrounds having a bit more detail.
lighting behaves a little different. more dramatic, without the aid of extra networks.

Background details can sometimes work against you if your environment is meant to be simple. Prompting specific background elements can help, but as always, avoid overdoing it. If you want a simple background, make sure to explicitly say so in your prompt—don’t leave it up to chance.
..BAKED-VAE v0.2: this version has a slight different style. however, the core focus is still lighting. overall, i have noticed an increase in vibrance in generations, as well as improved lighting.
..BAKED-VAE v0.1: i baked a VAE in to make it better for onsite generation, and local gen as well (for those who dont load a VAE separately). in general, lighting and colors are noticeably better! Because of the baked VAE, this is the ideal version for onsite use.
illustrious-XL v0.1: First illustrious version. i tried to keep the style similar to the pony version, but ultimately wanted better lighting, and more flexible style overall. Will probably keep updating until im happy, but ive switched focus lately to Loras over checkpoints and photos in general. ill get to it eventually.
v0.8.1: the better version. this version was supposed to be 0.8 (i have no idea how i uploaded the wrong version. sleepy brain? oops). better results without style loras, but still compliments them very well. still looking for feedback.
v0.8: my first (public) pony merge. looking feedback to improve the newer version that’s in the works.

i wanted to try a slightly different style. however, the focus on strong lighting and volumetrics remain
stronger lighting. try things like "mist," or "fog," for some neat results
in testing, it seems to have a wider color range. more vibrant outputs, unless you prompt accordingly.

Ah, so v0.2 graces the generator once more if only for a fleeting week. I’ll savor it while it lasts. As for the auction… I can feel that drain too; even the top 200 can seem like a mirage. Still, I might just cast a bid perhaps fate will let your checkpoint linger a little longer.
Nyssariel yeah its only gotten more expensive as more and more people bid lol i cant blame everyone, but man it is so tight on buzz! i bid when i can but im getting kinda low on buzz to spend 10k a week to keep the model onsite ):

v0.2 BAKED-VAE probably my favorite LoRA. Shame, really. Every week it vanishes, as if it never existed at all.

I can no longer use Lora locally on my cell phone, what happened?
I just read the comments about the auction, this sucks, I miss when Civitai didn't do this to its users, my images without this Lora, are of a much lower quality than expected, I wish you good luck
@BioArk_AI sorry /: i do what i can to keep it on the generator but it’s just too expensive for me to consistently do week after week lol it doesn’t help that then changed it from the top 200 models, to the top 100 so now i have to spend more just to place

@Dead_Internet_Theory Don’t waste my time, man. English isn’t my first language, I rely on a translator, so yeah, sometimes it comes out weird. Big deal. Instead of playing grammar cop, why don’t you actually do something for the community—train a LoRA, pump out your cookie-cutter porn, whatever—anything’s better than pretending you’re the handwriting police.

Those limited jokes again. If I were always available, I would use it more often, but I always get into the period when the checkpoint disappears. And when necessary, it is not available on the site. And I only do it on the website.

I'm confused how these work, could someone explain to me why I was able to use this like a month ago but now I need to 'bid' for it?
for a checkpoint to be included in the on-site generator for everyone to use, an auction takes place every week. top 100 bids get put on the generator for one week. before that, they had double the slots (so top 200, was much more manageable and more likely to get placements)
so when the checkpoint is available to be used, it’s because other users and i bid buzz torwards it and the model places top 100. because they lowered the amount of slots from 200 to 100, it essentially means every one has to bid MORE buzz to secure their place for their model. and sadly, i just don’t have enough buzz to buzz 20k minimum every week, so the model has been off the generator until i get a lucky placement or more people bid for it.
@killedmyself I didn't know they lowered it to a 100 checkpoints. It is truly a shame. They have massacred this place and all good in it 😔 I hope you get to be on the top.

@killedmyself nothing's wrong just that people are always expecting you to create maybe even something better in the future or a similar lora that's even better. Gosh this model of yours is my TOP1 favorite and i've browsed nearly all of civitai kinda a lil

Thank you for the great model! I’ve been using it all the time, and it works great about 95% of the time. However, there’s one problem — the lighting looks great, but it’s a bit (very) too dim. If in the future you could keep the same background lighting but make the character’s skin lighting clearer, it would make the model more versatile. Thanks!
i have no clue what you mean, its sometimes too bright for me, so i use lighting sliders/lighting LORAs/darkness LORAs to brighten or lighten it up for me - changes the aesthetics of this model like crazy i must say, damn throwing in other style/anime-"realism" LORAs gets it even crazier
@exhilarator It is bright in terms of lighting, but rather dim on the character model. As you can see in the creator’s sample image, this is mostly the case. As I mentioned, the lighting is wonderful, but it also affects the character model. If you want a clearer model while keeping the aesthetic lighting, you’ll need to remove lighting prompts such as “high contrast” and “dramatic shadows” from the base prompt. However, doing so removes the unique lighting aesthetics of this checkpoint. That’s why I gave feedback suggesting that, if possible, keeping the background lighting while making the foreground clearer would make it more flexible.
I am facing the same problem. What I tried is putting "backlighting" in negative prompt or useing a light controlling lora. They both solved this problem.
