HOW TO USE:

Download the file .pt
Copy the file
Open your stable diffusion installation folder
Paste the file in the folder: "\stable-diffusion-webui-1.7.0\models\ESRGAN"
Restart the webui

Now you can use the upscaler!

I've been using the 4x version of this to great effect for a good while. Doing 1.2x upsize with 0.35 denoise across many generations to get it from the original res to the final. Is this 8x version going to do better than the 4x for this you think? Thanks.

Yeah, it should look better, I usually use a denoise of around .25

@Yamer So just for informational purposes, I found that the 8x does look better, adds more details. Downside is that watching my 4090 go while upscaling, even with ultimate sd upscaler which does tiling, my vram usage while it's calculating at various times goes from 19 gigs of vram to about 30. This means it breaks into regular system ram which slows down the upscaling process by a ton.

I should attend some upscaling for dummies -boot camp 😅 I have still not figured out the settings part of this thing. Nevertheless, I have been able to use this one with denoising strength at around ~ 0.2, and by not touching the steps-settings without crashing my system even once! Yet. And the images look great 💎
