Collette is a glamorous French inspired blonde marionette who debuted on The Dean Martin Show in 1965. Created by puppeteers Sid and Marty Krofft, who later created The Banana Splits, H.R. Pufnstuf, and Land of the Lost, she reflected the brothers' earlier work on the adult marionette revue Les Poupées de Paris. On The Dean Martin Show, Dean Martin performed songs and comedy sketches alongside a troupe of stylish female marionettes, with Collette becoming instantly recognizable for her glamorous showgirl persona and her signature towel outfit. According to a story often retold by the Kroffts, the marionettes became so popular that Martin felt they were stealing the spotlight and removed them from the show after only a handful of appearances. Collette remained the breakout star and continued appearing on television variety shows throughout the 1960s and 1970s, becoming the most recognizable female marionette in the Krofft catalog.

Unfortunately I couldn't find a single clear photograph of her, and the TV video quality from that era is terrible, but she turned out ok considering what I was working with.
