ChaosIllustriousV2 is a high‑detail SDXL model created by merging four IllustriousV2‑derived checkpoints using a sequential UNet blending process. It preserves the ornate, cinematic, heroic aesthetic Illustrious is known for — while ensuring full SDXL compatibility, stable CLIP behavior, and consistent color reproduction.

This model uses SDXL’s official CLIP‑g and CLIP‑l, making it fully compatible with all SDXL workflows (ComfyUI, A1111, InvokeAI, Fooocus) without requiring DualCLIPLoader.

ChaosIllustriousV2 excels at:

• heroic fantasy portraits

• ornate armor with gold/silver filigree

• cathedral and medieval interiors

• warm, glowing saturation

• painterly anime

• regal compositions

• high‑contrast dramatic lighting

And thanks to its merge composition, it also performs exceptionally well in sci‑fi, tech armor, and futuristic environments.

Performed using ModelMergeSimple, ratio 0.30 each step:

VAE

• sdxlVAE_sdxlVAE.safetensors - not required to load VAE seperately

CLIP

No CLIP merging performed.

Final CLIP provided by:

• SDXL CLIP‑g

• SDXL CLIP‑l

Loaded via DualCLIPLoader during saving, but not required for users.

Final Save

Saved using SaveCheckpoint with:

• merged UNet

• SDXL CLIP‑g/l

• SDXL VAE

Result: a fully valid SDXL checkpoint with stable CLIP and consistent output.
