This mix is more focused on (un)realistic creatures/monsters, merging concepts, but seems to be a quite versatile/creative base model. Can be merged with more specific models to steer its direction.
Check out WyvernMix for realistic portraits, SuccubusMix for more nsfw portraits, or HydraMix which tries to balance all of these.

one question, i am happy with chimeramix v2 and still use it, shall i jump directly to v5 or shall i also try the ones in between? I would love to know what improvements were done, more or less and if i should regard them as variants, or if v5 is identical to v2 just much better :)
it's a bit random which concepts they handle better or worse, so if you have a specific one you prefer to generate, it might work best with V2.
most version upgrades should be a bit more coherent at higher native res, i liked to generate at 832x1088 at one go without hires fix and they mostly come out fine.
V3 had better realistic results, maybe even a bit too "processed"
V4 got a bit too much from the Wereanimals LoRA, which helped with it's coherency but lost a bit flexibility. sometimes it forces an artistic style or a cartoonish one while being prompted for realistic, but in return i think it was the most creative with nonsense monsters.
V5 was stabilized back a bit, fixed the faces again, so it should have great versatility, able to do realistic portraits while still knowing about creature concepts and combining them.
tl;dr jumping straight to V5 should be fine, should come with quality improvements, but might be worse for some specific concepts (eg centaurs are often the first ones to break), but also should have new ones in there as the parent models were also updated meanwhile, and i also increased my training dataset
@wier Thanks so much for the awesome and clear description, I understand perfectly and after trying both I am keeping v2 as my main model to go to and v5 for some better realism, and exceptional mixes, thanks so much!!!
