Suzanne's XL Mix
Suzanne’s Mix is made because of a request from Suzanne. I thought it would be a fun challenge. It's not meant for anyone else, but you can download and use it anyway. It attempts to capture some of the composition and aesthetic of RealCartoon-XL by 7whitefire7 and enhance it with some of the more risqué qualities and capabilities of select models. It was much more difficult than I thought it would be, and the earlier versions were too much of a failure for me to post here; therefore, you’ll see that Suzanne's XL Mix starts with version 3
Version 8.0
A new attempt at an old project, I wanted to bring in some refinement and knowledge into Suzanne's model. Version 8.0 is an experiment, but so far, it seems capable of generating some striking images while keeping most of the knowledge of Version 7.0. The newer version generates much more realistic images but still can summon up some of the aesthetics from RealCartoon to add just a bit of surrealism to a scene.

Description
The first two versions didn't make it. This version produces good images with a surreal quality that almost touches realism, and it’s quite capable of generating a wide range of NSFW imagery; however, it doesn’t come close enough to RealCartoon’s control composition and other elements in order to produce amazing images. Though not quite there, it's still good enough to share.

wow, it looks great, thanks for putting my name...
I'm downloading V4 to try it out and will post my images and comments here.
I have a general question: my native language is not English and I often see in the prompt "(aburdres:1.4), aburd res" and I don't understand what it means.
Can you tell me what it's for?
Thanks for your speed
it's "absurdres" meaning "absurd resolution". I assume it's a Danbooru tag of some sort. I've seen it but never used it.
@shapeshifter83 Thanks for your reply,
but I don't understand the meaning because "absurd resolution" means nothing to me,
it doesn't make sense... 😒
@Suzanne, it was a quality tag used in SD 1.5 training, which basically means the resolution should be so high it's crazy. When I generate images, I have a "basic" style that I always apply that has that in there. It keeps me from having to type a few common positive and negative words over and over.
@Dark_infinity ok, I understand better now, so I don't need it because I use Fooocus which has predefined styles that incorporate these keywords.
@Dark_infinity fyi you do indeed have it misspelled in some prompts as "aburdres"
@shapeshifter83 Yeah. There's lots of issues with some of the prompts I'm using. I do checkpoint testing by using the civitai prompt wildcards, and though I majorly cleaned up the file, many are still misspelled or ineffective. I set it to infinitely generate on the wildcards and then come back and pick out ones I like for the showcase. But I should really go and refine the ones I'm using and pay more attention.
@Dark_infinity Hi
after a few tests the results aren't too bad, but I still have a problem getting cinematic lighting like in these images made with RealCartoon:
https://civitai.com/images/4861031
https://civitai.com/images/4716667
To summarize, as soon as I put keywords to get an ambiance, a backlight, an atmosphere or a bit of haze, the renderings get ugly and sometimes blurry.
Do you think you can improve these parameters?
Thanks
@Suzanne if can I determine which unet block the concept is in, I can merge more weight from that particular one.
@Dark_infinity okay, if you can...
Many thanks
@Suzanne working on a new version of the mix that seems to be able to accomplish the lighting like this! Testing is positive.
@Dark_infinity i'm also looking forward to it, v3 here is one of the better SDXL checkpoints on the site right now imho
@Dark_infinity Good news, thanks!!!
take your time
@Suzanne I'm looking at ratios right now. Take a look at the grid and see what alpha and beta values (the numbers going up and down) hit the sweet spot for aesthetics. Give me a range for both where the images are good for the look. I'll have a few more grids as they finish running. https://civitai.com/posts/1163257
@Dark_infinity Thanks for these tests, they're very useful.
The values between 0.33 and 0.75 seem good, except for the last image (https://civitai.com/images/5333794) where the alpha values seem good between 0.67 and 0.75 and for beta = 0.5 and 0.75.
For the realistic mode, it seems more difficult, but high values seem to work well from 0.67 in beta and 0.75 in alpha.
Have you tried integrating loras, like "offset_example" or the new "GodPussy XL"?
And maybe the "Better than words" checkpoint https://civitai.com/models/149359/better-than-words?modelVersionId=233092
there are some good images with good backlighting what do you think? or maybe for another version if it's too late for this one?
By the way, I'm giving you 1000 extra buzz for your excellent work!!!!
@Suzanne model mix has Better than words merged. I'm going to redo one of the base parts and try again. Lora's are odd to mix as, generally, they only appear when summoned (using trigger words) and can significantly change the style when that happens. It can make a realistic model suddenly go anime and vice versa. But I'll take a look at those you mentioned as anything without a trigger word works well as a poor man's fine-tuning when mixed in.
@Dark_infinity they can also make a pretty face go ugly pretty quick as soon as a penis is in the image. that's the case a lot with the All-In-One POV LoRA, which was waterdrinker's focused LoRA merge with Better Than Words. I might suggest FappXL (which is a Lycoris) as something to merge in if you're looking for some fidelity without completely tanking the look. FappXL is strong though, so aim for low strength if you do that.
@shapeshifter83 I'll look into that. I found that the All-in-One and other misbehaving loras work if you merge it to the first model and give it more weight than you think it'll need. Then, use that merged model in the mix as a base. If you use a mbw after that, you can give more weight to the blocks that contain those nsfw concepts (which seem to be those close to the middle). Or extract the weights of the Lora after that merge and use it as a new Lora to merge instead of the original one.
@Dark_infinity okay, I don't know anything about it, so I'll trust you.
@Suzanne I think I've got something. Can you post three links to some of your images on the site with full-generation data? I'll use them to make more grids with the new custom alpha and beta values and let you pinpoint the aesthetic using prompts, settings, and seeds you've used before.
@Dark_infinity ok, but it's going to be complicated because I used Foocus for the last images I posted and now I'm using Ruined Foocus which is even better, I recommend it but the results are different from the images I'm trying to reproduce from Civitai, but they're much better and much faster.
I'll have a look tomorrow, as it's nearly midnight here.
@shapeshifter83 It's ready now, try it out and let me know what you think so I can consider what to change in the next version.
hi, Dark_infinity,
I've added the data for 2 images, but as I told you yesterday, I use Fooocus and there's a sampler missing from the list on this site, and I had also put loras but the aim is to do without them so if you work with A1111 or other software you'll get very different results, but the important thing are these keywords:
cinematic film still, chiaroscuro lighting, cinematic lighting, dramatic lighting, rim lighting, low key lighting, Rembrandt lighting, hazy room, light through haze, volumetric lighting, back lighting, mood, mist, fog...
Not necessarily all at the same time, but the aim is to create a foggy atmosphere with (almost) exclusively back lighting.
about samplers, I'll let you find the ones that work best and you'll tell me, my favorite is the new one: [dpmpp_3m_sde_gpu]
note:
[LoRA 1 sd_xl_offset_example-lora_1.0.safetensors : 1.0
LoRA 2 !age-SDXL.safetensors : 1.14
LoRA 3 !xl_more_art-full_v1.safetensors : 0.3
LoRA 4 !extremely_detailed.safetensors : 0.32]

I tested with these and many others. Looks like I narrowed version 5 down to two models. Both give very good results and fall in the range of tests you picked in the grid. In my opinion, they both seem to create very good-quality images, listen carefully to prompts, and aren't as overly horny as the other versions based on the protogenesis model -- but they still will create every bit as good nsfw images. I'll narrow it down to one model and post it as version 5 later today.
@Dark_infinity perfect
if you can specify the best settings and samplers, thank you.
Version 5 is here! Try it out. Let me know what your feedback is to improve the next one.
@Dark_infinity ok, tanks
As a fellow Fooocus user, this feedback and advice is appreciated.
@swedishViking great! try Ruined Fooocus you'll be pleasantly surprised, but it works a little differently.
@Suzanne I did try it, but then went back to 'normal' Fooocus. That was literally day one though, so I might revisit it. What differences should I look for?
@Suzanne, Have you had a chance to use the newest version yet? Any feedback?
@Dark_infinity yes, I've posted a few images here.
First of all, BRAVO!!!
I'm very happy with the results, but I had to struggle with keywords, weights and styles to get the result I've been wanting for a long time.
The best sampler is dpmpp_sde_gpu on Ruined Fooocus.
At first I had a lot of trouble, then I added the "PIXAR" tag and the quality was much better (you'll see the difference between the first and last images).
I noticed that the more you increase the weight of the sexual acts the more you lose the "anime" rendering and vice versa, but that's normal if I understand correctly. So I'm still looking for the best compromise...
I think this model has a lot of potential, so do you think it's still possible to improve it, especially the contour definition, which isn't very clear around the model when there's background lighting? the face, the teeth, the eyes?
@Suzanne I think we can make those improvements. Composition (how the components and subjects are positioned and arranged, the POV, the focus, the lighting, etc) is hard to change. It's largely based on the training data the models were trained or fine-tuned using. Aesthetics (the look and feel, art style, sharpness/softness, contrasts, color, etc) is a bit easier because once we get the model close, we can just make changes to things like level of detail, the contrast, lightness/darkness, and color tone by tweaking the input and output points of U-Net. It's really fun to look at how it makes differences in images from the same seed when you make the model increase the level of intricate detail or the lighting contrast. Adding additional noise makes the model come up with extra components from the noise as it diffuses the chaos.
So, the simple answer is yes. We can easily make complexities for the model to sharpen into additional details and we can increase the contrast and to create better definition between the light and dark. It was actually the step I was planning on trying once I was sure the bulk of the model was producing the results we wanted.
Any more tips on prompting and settings? I can write them up to post on the model page.
@swedishViking, that is to you as well -- any usage tips? I use Automatic1111 and ComfyUI, so I am afraid I don't know much about the best settings for your UI.
@Suzanne Here's a grid of adjustments to the model. Look at the numbers along the left and tell me which series of numbers is consistent for the adjustments you want to see in the images. https://civitai.com/images/5475487
@Dark_infinity up to the third line it looks OK, but from the fourth line onwards I get the impression that the quality deteriorates on realistic backlight images.
do you have the "dpmpp_sde_gpu" sampler to make these settings?
@swedishViking Hi, sorry for the late reply.
I'm not an expert and I've only been using it for a short time, but I understand that it supports Turbo mode, and there are new options for generating images very quickly.
Have a look at this tutorial

and this forum

good luck
@Suzanne New grids are posted at https://civitai.com/posts/1198107. You can make comments directly on the images to note things. There are 8 variations using a variety of prompts. The first row is the original model. The second is merged with an experimental version, there should not be much change in composition, but the details and contrast may show more differences. The last is a straight 50/50 merge with another model. The first column is the current level of adjustment (so the top left-most image should be exactly what is generated now by version 5). Use this image for comparisons. The second row is a typical adjustment I make if the composite models used in the merge do not have much complexity and detail in the images they create. The sampler used is DPM++ SDE, which should be identical to your dpmpp_sde_gpu. Anyone else looking at this comment is welcome to evaluation and comment as well!
@Suzanne I just finished watching the Youtube video. It is amazing how much it has progressed since I first looked at it late November. Evo and infinite generation are particularly appealing. Speed is not so much of an issue for me as I'm cooking on a 4090.
Thanks for the suggestion; I'd discarded it as a platform based on my initial impressions.
