Pokémon Sprite Generator
If You Like This Model, Give It a ❤️
The LoRA model is specifically trained on Pokémon sprites sized at 96x96 pixels, which can be upscaled to 768x768 while utilizing BLIP image captions.
Quick Tips
No Trigger Word Required: This model operates without the need for a trigger word.
Recommended Resolution: We suggest setting your image resolution to 768x768 and then downscaling it 8 times to 96x96 for optimal results. Any image editing programs will work, but we recommend using plug-in for post-processing.
Pokémon Types: This model is trained with Pokémon type tags, including
grasstype, firetype, flyingtype, darktype, bugtype, andghosttype.Pokemon Recognition: The model can recognize some Pokemon names, but not every Pokemon.
Special Forms: The model has been trained with special form tags such as
gmaxandmega.
Enjoy your Pokémon sprite!

These are seriously awesome!
I'm the founder/main dev behind Retro Diffusion.
I've worked with a couple model trainers, including Brandon Neri who I've been working with for nearly 6 months.
I'm wondering if you would be interested in training some style loras for us, or maybe even getting involved deeper in the development of the tool, we pay well and have an awesome community of people supporting us :)
If you're interested feel free to reach out to me on Discord at Astropulse, or through my site. You can also learn more about us and the community in the Discord server.
Sorry for the delay in responding. I'll be happy to help the community and will get in touch as soon as I have some free time available.
Would you be interested in adding support for Backsprites?
Version 2 already support back side sprite. Use 'backside' in your prompt.
Any plans to give this SDXL support like you did for the trainer one?
Not yet. But already have similar pokemon sprite on SDXL. Here: https://civitai.com/models/378602/pokemon-sprite-xl-pixelart-lora
@titansteng OH didn't see that, thanks!
love this LORA. I've used it for months, generated over a million sprites with it.
definitely looking forward for any update (if it ever gets out of beta for SD 1.5)
training with a ton of sprites is difficult. Until now, I still cannot make any improvement from the current version. (I almost forget that I still leave it as beta)
@titansteng I guessed as much tbh
but I'll still be looking forward for other versions, or some variants (LORAs that do other things related to Pokemon sprites/etc) :p
Pokemon Infinite Fusion has 100 000 custom sprites of fused pokemons made by the community over a decade, I was planning into seeing if I could find a way somehow to use those 100 000+ sprites to make a checkpoint or a LORA, I might in the future (I'm the creator of kuray infinite fusion, which is a massive revamp of the fangame Pokemon Infinite Fusion)
on the infinite fusion side, we're facing an issue where implementing every pokemons up to sword/shield would make for a bad game quality wise because Japeal's autogen fusions look awful, if within a few years AI can be improved further, perhaps we could have an AI game of infinite fusion (but literally).
nonetheless, this LORA single-handlely helped me get creatures in the pose I wanted, and gave me hundred of really cool designs for me to re-draw (I use AI to create references/ideas to draw)
so really, thank you for sharing! I'm not too used on posting images and stuff on CivitAI (so it took me time to share some sprites made with the LORA), but I plan on posting more every now and then :D
@reizod Hi, great to see others with similar interests!
If you haven't already, please check out my Pokemon Sprite XL and their back & front sprite versions:
- [Version 1](https://civitai.com/models/378602?modelVersionId=422724)
- [Version 2](https://civitai.com/models/378602?modelVersionId=473319)
I also aim to create fusion Pokemon. The challenge with this LoRA is controlling the output sprite to resemble a specific Pokemon. To tackle this, I've moved to the XL version, which has more parameters and reduced the variety of Pokemon name in the dataset. The XL version recognizes many more Pokemon and can generalize them into different poses. However, it has been trained with fewer Pokemon names. I think train a Stable Diffusion model to remember all Pokemon name is too much.
I've also been thinking about using custom sprites from Infinite Fusion. The issue is the sheer number of Pokemon sprites, which exceeds my training resources. Even if I manage to train successfully, I'm unsure how to control the final LoRA to output a new fusion Pokemon. Additionally, not every sprite looks great; some fusion sprites look horrible. I’ve considered tagging some artists whose sprites look nice and collecting their results, but I haven't had time to do that yet.
Let me know if there's anything I can help with, or if you want more details, feel free to DM me.
@titansteng I did see the XL model, but I have a setup on 1.5 with 3000 LORAs, a complex wildcard system, and 200 checkpoints.
Also on my PC, generating a 768x768 30 steps on SD 1.5 takes 7 seconds, I don't remember how much more it takes for XL/Pony but I believe for the minimum dimension of XL/Pony that it was like 3 to 4 times the ETA.
Also XL/Pony checkpoints and LORAs are bigger in size, and there isn't that much of them yet.
Though in a couple of years when I get the time to buy a new SSD for AI models and perhaps a better GPU, I do plan on moving to XL/Pony yeah.
But I'll stick with 1.5 for probably a couple millions more sprites ^^
The model that doesn't look AI-generated. It's so good!
😊
Nice! Would be cool to have RSE/FRLG 65x65 sprite model too
