Brenda Strong, born on March 25, 1960, in Portland, Oregon, is an American actress and certified yoga instructor. She graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor of Music in musical theater and was crowned Miss Arizona in 1980. ​

Strong began her acting career in the mid-1980s, making guest appearances on television series such as "St. Elsewhere," "MacGyver," and "Cheers." She gained recognition for her recurring role as Sue Ellen Mischke, the braless "Oh Henry!" candy bar heiress, on the sitcom "Seinfeld." She also appeared in shows like "Twin Peaks," "Party of Five," and "Sports Night." ​

In 2004, Strong achieved widespread fame portraying Mary Alice Young, the narrator of the ABC series "Desperate Housewives." Her work on the show earned her two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Voice-Over Performance. She later starred as Ann Ewing in the TNT revival of "Dallas" from 2012 to 2014. ​

Strong's film credits include roles in "Starship Troopers" (1997), "Black Dog" (1998), and "The Deep End of the Ocean" (1999). She has also appeared in series such as "Fear the Walking Dead," "Supergirl," and "13 Reasons Why."
