• The two became romantically involved and formed The Cramps in 1976 in New York City.

• The band emerged as part of the CBGB punk scene, alongside bands like the Ramones, Blondie, and Talking Heads.

Musical Style & Influence

• Poison Ivy was the lead guitarist and primary songwriter for the band, contributing to their signature "psychobilly" sound—a fusion of 1950s rockabilly, surf rock, punk, and B-movie horror themes.

• Her guitar work was heavily influenced by Link Wray, Duane Eddy, and 1950s rock & roll.
