Alexis Bledel is an American actress best known for her role as Rory Gilmore in the TV series Gilmore Girls (2000–2007) and as Lena in The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants films. She was born on September 16, 1981, in Houston, Texas, and has Hispanic heritage, with her father being of Argentine descent.

She started her career in modeling before transitioning to acting and gained widespread recognition for Gilmore Girls, which showcased her ability to portray intelligent and relatable characters. She later took on notable roles in Mad Men (2012) and The Handmaid’s Tale (2017), the latter of which won her an Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actress in a Drama Series.
