This model surprised me very pleasantly. Looking at its age, I was expecting something rather buggy and crooked. And of course, due to its orientation, it is not very responsive in generating various characters, but on the other hand, it creates landscapes and backgrounds that are very fantastic, expressive, very detailed and diverse. Impressive! Great job!
I'm trying to use this model with SD 1.5 but I keep getting muted, washed out colors and what looks like "camera" burn on bright sunlight areas. Any idea what I might be missing to get this to come out as vibrant as the preview images?
Use the Right VAE.
There are a few checkpoints around civitai that include the pastel-waifu-diffusion VAE or clearvae VAE as separate files to download alongside the checkpoints themselves, grab one or both and don't worry about colors. If you find yourself wanting less or more saturation in your end results after using either VAE, it's best to tweak saturation using Krita or Gimp on the final image.
