Celebrating my 200th model posted to Civitai by going back to the first model roots with a realism/semi-realism furry focused Illustrious checkpoint merge from a family friendly name you can trust for your furry/scaly/feathery needs.
Recommended positive tags (beginning of prompts):
masterpiece, best quality, amazing quality, very aesthetic, high resolution, absurdres, newest, photorealism, realistic,
Recommended negative tags:
3d, anime, 2d, bad quality, worst quality, worst detail, sketch, censor, simple background, jpeg artifacts, low quality, watermark, unfinished, displeasing, oldest, early,chromatic aberration, signature,artistic error, username, scan
Works best in combination with KFT Furropean Extreme (Illustrious) at low weights (0.2 - 0.6).
That way you get the full KFT FEĀ² experience!
Gallery images show examples using Checkpoint + LORA as I feel the combination of the two is where the sweet style spot is (strengths of 0.1-0.3).
Recommended settings:
Sampler: DPM++ 2M Karras / DPM++ 3M Karras (GPU seeded) / DEIS
SGM Uniform / Karras
(Euler A gives much worse fur quality with most tested checkpoints)

As mentioned before, recommend using this checkpoint in combination with KFT Furropean Extreme (at low weights: 0.2 - 0.5)
Description
07/24/25 - v4VAE: Even more merging with a few of the more recent realistic IL checkpoints (~20%) and additional refinements with a newly expanded Furropean dataset. Nothing too crazy, but adds a bit more detail/clarity and style.
Works best combined with Furropean Extreme at low strength (0.1 - 0.4) to keep style with proper prompt adherence of checkpoint.

Dumb question butā¦ Does the āVAEā in the version name mean it has a VAE baked in, or does it mean that I need to download a separate VAE file somewhere?
Canāt get v4 to work even using the same settings as with v3
Not a dumb question! It has the SDXL VAE baked in so it should work the same as before! Are you getting an error message or poor results?
Thanks for responding, kftigerĀ - No error. It looks great until the end, at which point it turns into neon noise.
Itās probably my fault for installing a beta OS that has proven pretty unstable. Hopefully they smooth things out soon.
otterpawwsĀ That is a different one! Usually it'll just be noisy garbage the entire way through the generation if something's wrong with the VAE - not just at the end. Do keep me posted if you figure it out, or if it is something wrong with the checkpoint itself.
kftigerĀ Hey FYI I got it working. It wasnāt the checkpoint. Finally pinned it down to a hiccup with storing my models on an external drive. Anyway, all good now! Thanks!
