The Mainzelmännchen are six animated characters named Anton, Berti, Conni, Det, Edi, and Fritzchen, primarily serving as commercial break bumpers on ZDF (Second German Television). Additionally, they occasionally appear on the satirical show "heute-show" (since 2009). Their name derives from the city of Mainz, the headquarters of the Second German Television, and the Heinzelmännchen. They were created by Wolf Gerlach.
