Amy Ryan, born Amy Beth Dziewiontkowski on May 3, 1968, in Queens, New York, is a celebrated American actress known for her versatile performances in film, television, and theater. She studied at the High School of Performing Arts and honed her craft at Stagedoor Manor, a renowned performing arts center. Amy adopted her professional surname from her mother's maiden name.

Her breakout role came in 2007 with Gone Baby Gone, where her portrayal of Helene McCready earned her an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. She has also been recognized for her performances in Birdman, Bridge of Spies, Beautiful Boy, and the U.S. version of The Office. On Broadway, she received a Tony Award nomination for her work in A Streetcar Named Desire.
