The Redemptionists are a fanatical sub-sect of House Cawdor in the Necromunda underhive—devotees of fire, purification, and the annihilation of sin through brutal zeal. They dress in scorched crimson robes, layered with cracked leather, chains, and ritual seals bearing flame iconography. Their faces are almost always obscured by grotesque masks of blackened iron or bronze, often sculpted into parodies of angelic or martyrdom visages. These warriors wield flamers, relic-torches, and eviscerator axes, often adorned with scripture and relics of a perverse faith that sees fire as the only path to redemption. Every aspect of their appearance, from the soot-stained parchment scrolls stitched into their vestments to the ritual scarring visible beneath their armor, reflects a doctrine that celebrates suffering and purification through flame.
Culturally, the Redemptionists are as much religious extremists as they are gangers. They conduct public sermons amidst flame and ruin, declaring entire hive sectors heretical and razing them with fire and prayer. Their environments are defined by ruined cathedrals, ash-choked alleyways, and the glow of burning oil-soaked altars. While nominally aligned with House Cawdor, their fervor often sets them apart—even feared by fellow hivers. They are not subtle: Redemptionists are iconoclasts, pyromaniacs, and flagellants whose every act is an expression of violent devotion. Their presence in any image is unmistakable—a looming silhouette against flame, cloaked in red, bearing the tools of holy ruin.
