Melina Juergens is most notably known for her portrayal of Senua in the video game "Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice." Initially a stand-in for motion capture tests at Ninja Theory, she was eventually offered the role due to her impressive performance during these tests. With no prior acting experience, Juergens used her personal experiences of trauma and anxiety to bring depth to the character of Senua. For her role, she trained in sword fighting and stunts to realistically portray a warrior. Her performance was critically acclaimed and contributed significantly to the game's success​
