Candy Candy (キャンディ・キャンディ?) is a Japanese manga written and illustrated by Kyōko Mizuki, one of the pen names of Keiko Nagita, and mangaka Yumiko Igarashi, published in Japan by Kōdansha Ltd. from 1975 to 1979. The story tells of the experiences of an orphan girl named Candice "Candy" White. It was adapted into an anime series by Toei Animation between 1976 and 1979, which was distributed internationally, becoming popular in many countries. It won the first Kodansha Manga Award for shōjo in 1977. Sales of the manga reached 13 million copies.
