Sonya Blade (usually simply Sonya) is a character from the Mortal Kombat universe created by Ed Boon and John Tobias.

She first appeared in the 1992 Mortal Kombat game, which launched the Mortal Kombat series. Sonya was the last character added to this game, as the developers decided they needed a female character.
