"Meitantei Holmes" (internationalised as "Sherlock Hound") was a 26-episode series developed in 1984 by the still nameless Studio Ghibli (together with their first feature film "Nausicaa") where all characters were humanoid dogs and wolves. Mrs Hudson (known to close friends as Marie) combined in herself both the original books' Mrs Hudson (the heroes' landlady) and Irene Adler (the romantic interest), sprinkled with several Miyazaki trademarks such as a knack for adventure, automobiles and aircraft.
