Excellent work. I assume you are training on base Pony to get it to work with so many other checkpoints?
This was trained on Pony Realism 2.2 and the logic behind that decision is increasingly shaky.
@doveship Agreed. I focus on Halle Berry in particular because I find that Pony Realism turns every model white and really struggles with dark skin. I'm surprised you were able to get it to perform so well on other models.
Do you mind telling me the size of your training set, steps, and epochs? I'm currently struggling to get Pony Realism 2.2 to reliably train a darker skin subject for which I feel I have very good training data.
@Clocksmith
https://civitai.com/articles/3921/this-is-how-i-create-and-train-loras this guide by Skullkid is more or less the depth of my knowledge on the subject. The config in Kohya sets the epochs to 6, while steps have no visible value assigned. This LoRA used 36 images, which is apparently quite high by most standards.
As for complexion issues it may all come down to the prompt. 'dark-skinned female' wasn't part of the captioning, it's just what most checkpoints seem to respond best to for some reason. A lot of them don't recognise 'dark skin' or variations along those lines.
@doveship Sorry, I meant "Repeats", not steps. They are specified in Kohya_ss for each session, to the right of to the input image folder field. I'm guessing you just use the default 40 then if you don't remember changing it. Thanks for the link. I'll read this.
@doveship I forgot to ask: do you just use the SDXL training file he posts in this article and change the base model to Pony Realism 2.2 without any other modifications?
@Clocksmith beyond the obvious changes for filename/folder locations and training model the only change I made was Accelerate launch->Mixed precision->fp16 to bf16.
