Para-Dice from Ōban Star-Racers

Para-Dice from the tv series Ōban Star-Racers (2006), a French-Japanese sci-fi racing series about Earth’s team entering the Great Race of Ōban for the Ultimate Prize, is a young cat-like alien racer who treats the competition more like a game than a serious battle for survival. She comes from a highly intelligent species and built her own star-racer, the TV Ball, which she pilots using a dance-pad-like control system with strong speed and maneuverability. In the story she tricks Molly and Jordan into entering her arcade-like racing world during “Playful Like Para-Dice,” where her playful attitude hides how dangerous and skilled she actually is as a competitor. She also reveals important information about the Ultimate Prize to Molly during their race, making her more than just a comic rival in the tournament.
