    About

This is a cute character who is probably unknown outside the German-speaking world, at least I never heard about it before. It is Bibi Blocksberg the little witch who is famous for her audio books in Germany, but there is also a cartoon series and a spinoff series with horses (Which lead me to try letting her ride on a horse in on of the example images. And it worked better then let her sit on a broom (Which is acctually her trademark thingy if I understood it correctly)) and even a bunch of live action movies.

The LoRA (or better said a image of Bibi) was requested by real-life friends from Germany (the only group of people (To make it clear: friends, the german part is not relevant in that case) I allow to request things where I don't care that much about the franchise or characters).

My friends' daughter loves the Bibi Blocksberg franchise and wanted a cool poster of Bibi for her birthday. Unfortunately, there seem to be no actual 'cool' posters of Bibi out there (if any at all), so I offered to let AI do the work and created this LoRA.

So after some tinkering, discussions and tag replacement (who could have thought that some of the alias tags in the webUi autocompletion of danbooru tags lead to way worse results), the final image was then ready and send to a printing service. ;D

Result: The gift was a great success ^^

    Training

I rushed through 2 seasons of this series, it hurt to watch, I had to turn off the sound to bear it and I collected 52 pictures and did some mirroring to get the shorts to be more knee length than hotpants length. (Which was partly a success, its not perfect but its more likely to occur than in v1.1 )

    Description

    How to use the LoRa

Basic prompt, no weight adjustment required

bibi blocksberg, freckles, blonde hair, red bow, ponytail, green shirt dress, white frilled shorts, frilled socks <lora:princess_calla_v1:1>

The shirt dress and frilled shorts seems to be a bit short with some base models... to be hornest, I don't get why but most likely these models are biased towards short shorts, in the original material the shorts end right above the knees.

Beautiful, really beautiful. I tried to get Bibi and Chihiro in one picture, but it didn't work out well until now. (It looks creepy.) Individually it's fine though. :)

My kids love both characters and my plan is to create a picture or two to colour in.

(I feel like I've "gotten" to listen to 75% of the audio books. Also watch all the live-action film adaptations).

But one more thing for clarification, since you seem to know Bibi Blocksberg peripherally.

Bibi's broom is called Kartoffelbrei (mashed potato) and only appears in the episodes of Bibi Blocksberg.

The audio books and animated films, as well as the live-action film versions (5?) with the horses are called "Bibi and Tina". It is set on a horse farm where Bibi spends her summer holidays.

In the live-action film version, Bibi is played by "Lina Larissa Strahl" in four films.

Watching the films can give you a sugar shock. It's soooo cute (sweet). Teen film "high 10". Hardly bearable as an adult.

But for my children I gladly make sacrifices.

Regarding having 2 characters in one image, My suggestion (based on the assumption you are using webui):

    1. create a base image with one of the two loras active (optionally using controlnet for posing)

    2. send the base image to inpaint and activate the other lora and mark the 2nd character (I think this could have even a better success rate by using adetailer but I am currently pretty new to this webui addon but I think It could help to properly do the inpainting part)

Regarding the franchise stuff, thanks for the explaination. This whole franchise looks like its quite a big deal or at least long running thing in germany, huh?

My friends who asked for the image/lora had audio tapes from their own childhood (which got all dumped on their daughter, so thats pretty much the reason why she is such a fan) from roughly 25 years ago. That is quite a long time for a children franchise (and whats even more interesting it was not 3dfied like many other European animation series... I really miss the good old drawn Asterix movies).

@chrgg Thank you very much for the explanation. I'll have to see if I can do that with my old carrot (PC) (A German expression for anything technically old but still working.).

I don't know whether aDetailer can do that. I've only used it for refining hands, face and body so far.

Bibi Blocksberg has been around since 1980, but I've only really known it since my children listen to it every day (Spotify). Or then the Bibi and Tina episodes.

Bibi Blocksberg passed me by in my childhood. But that was because I grew up on the GDR side. (But I had that much better Pittiplatsch and Moppi).

The creator of Bibi also created another "evergreen" (for Germany): Benjamin Blümchen. It is just as cruel as Bibi Blocksberg in a different way. xD

I think adetailer could help in the masking process of an body, but to be hornest I never used it in inpainting situations extensivly yet.

Ah I heard about these GDR animation stuff too, acctually looks quite good... What I think was interessting back then there was some kind of rivalery between the west germany and east germany uhm "Sandmaenchen" where acctually after the german unification the eastern version "won" this rivalery and is still the offical one today, right? Quite interessting stuff that happend back then.

My friends told me about Benjamin Bluemchen too... a speaking elephant that lives in a Zoo wearing clothes and no one questions it why and he even gets out of the Zoo without anyone gives a sh... jup thats weird, sounds like a weird version of Madagaca...

Hmmm which brings me to another idea for an LoRA :D But I have so many LoRA planned and with the release of SDXL in roundabout 2 weeks I don't think I will train more SD 1.5 models for now. (And if everything rumored will come true, this will be a really interessting change (unlike SD 2.1)) instead I preping my datasets for be trained on SDXL... after trying the demo of this model I am a bit hyped for it :O

@chrgg Unfortunately, my computer is very bad at inpainting. My PC hangs up very quickly.

You are right in your assumption about the rivalry between the FRG and the GDR Sandman. In this case, however, the GDR Sandman won.

    https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sandm%C3%A4nnchen

The GDR Sandman still exists today and has been reissued by RBB. (But logically it can't compete with the old Sandmännchen).

My children love to watch the Sandman in the evening before they go to bed. It's a ritual.

In addition to the "old" protagonists, i.e. Pittiplatsch, Plumps, Herr Fuchs and Frau Elster, Jan & Henry have been added as popular characters.

Benjamin Blümchen is quite special, yes. I think it came up at the same time as Alfred Jodocus Kwak. at least in my memory as an animated film.
What I just read in Wikipedia, there is a correlation to Bibi Blockberg. It all takes place in the fictional town "Neustadt" and Bibi Blockberg also has appearances on Benjamin Blümchen. Also, the mayor, the mayor's secretary and also the reporter are the same people in each story. LOL, I didn't expect that. xD

I don't know about other version of Diffusion yet, unfortunately. I just started a few weeks ago. Let's see if it still works for me then, but as long as the 1.5 is still supported and the newer version does not have more checkpoints and LORAS than the 1.5 version, I'll probably stay with this for now.
