that is exactly what i comment nearly every single day. people are just throwing their shit at you without any further description. and it is really making you mad, because the team simply is accepting it.

Yeah, if you go to the trouble of uploading something why not do it right? This is just lazy and annoying!

I agree with this, I literally just came from another model commenting exactly this. In some cases, maybe the uploader isn't an English speaker, but even a Japanese or whatever description shows effort. I also realize that people work on these things for free, and maybe just for their own purposes, only uploading for the simple fact that they can. One day I think this work will be able to be monetized, and the pioneers who build a reputation today might find themselves sitting on a golden egg. For instance, a site like this might become a YouTube type model provider of AI resources, paying creators for the notoriety (and therefore page views) they achieve with their work. Who knows, but I find people in general fairly short sighted and low success oriented, it's often disappointing considering the potential I see in them. Anyway, rant over.

I can only agree with all that is said here. Why not make it simple? Upload a description (in any language, Google Translate of even better, ChatGPT can take care of the translation) and 3-4 images minimum. People have to check the images and description and approve before they can download, until there is at least 5-10 downloads are completed. Until then, no approval, no download available. So Civitai does not become a model dump. Anyway, most models already come with a description so it would not inconvenience most users of the platform.

@maxhitman Each day, I am more and more convinced that CivitAI came about by a small group of people sitting around and saying, "Hey, wouldn't it be nice if we had this site?" and then deciding to make it the next day without any kind of planning or oversight. Scheduled maintenance? What's that? Nah, when something needs to be updated, they just take it offline without warning. And then, as you touched on, there's literally no standard criteria for what's acceptable and what's not. If a mod doesn't like it/having a bad day, it comes down. If a mod is easy-going, it stays up. There's very little (if anything) about this site that I'd call professional. That's by far the biggest reason I'm not a financial supporter.

@dita I very much agree there are problems with this site, but given the volume of Models, Loras and all other stuff coming to this site, I believe even the most professionnal team ever would have problems keeping up. I've tried to keep up with everything published here, just trying to look at it and it's not even doable from a USER perspective. I can't imagine what it's like for the mods!
However, give me an alternative site where I can find anything like on Civitai.com, with such a good overall sorting/categories AND preview/example pictures. Until then, I'll use Civitai.com
