Does this actually work? Can you animate characters with this?
these are very cool - what do they look like animated?
Nice experiment purely for curiosity. The quality really isn't any good though. Even if you like the style, the animations are messed up, characters tend to have 3 legs in some frames, etc. Maybe I am expecting too much, but running this model is EXPENSIVE.
It's a neat idea, but this kind of thing would require some sort of model which understands things like animation cycles and frames, and for specific animated actions, as well as rotations.
This idea might be too far away, and there just isn't any free lunch with animating a complete character, either you draw all the frames from scratch, or you make a digital/physical model and animate that (which, in many aspects is easier than the former), but all of it is a bunch of hard work.
Can you not just use a pose ControlNet?
