I used a Vae upscale for some of the samples during the testing. (usually provided enhanced details and better eyes.)
I think the most realistic look during my testing came from Serendipity PDXL - Realistic and it doesn't require a Vae upscale for this one to produce good results a basic upscale at around 2x looks good with this or just basic gens right out the gate. You can also use a Vae upscale with it too and the results are cool too but more of a cat eye look it seems. (This model worked decent for far away and great for close up.)
(Vae Upscale is recommended for all the other models. Besides that Serendipity it's optional for that one.)
However there was pretty good results from a few others as well. I think my next favorite would probably be CyberRealistic Pony. (This model worked decent for far away and great for close up.)
I actually kinda liked the look of the gens directly from the base Pony Diffusion V6 XL it's kind of a painted realism look. (This model worked decent for close ups.)
Atomix Pony Realism XL (This model worked decent for close ups and distant gens.)
2DN-Pony This one the eyes are slightly bigger and has a bit of a cartoonist feel to it. (This model worked decent for close ups and distant gens.)
Those are the models that I had results worth mentioning however I haven't tested this lora on all of the pony models so if you want to with some you might get some good results.
