I remember Don Bluth saying that when he made Charlie Barkin's design he drew him to look like Burt Reynolds who voiced him, I hadn't ever really looked at Burt before but now that I see all these generations of him I can see it, in the eyebrows and forehead, Charlie does look like him, wow.
Now you mention this, I think one of the Thunderbirds characters seems modelled after him as well
