In 1985, beginning with Dazzler #38, she debuted her iconic blue costume—a sleek, form-fitting outfit often accented with a prominent yellow star emblem—designed to signal a renewed focus on action-oriented storytelling as her singing career waned and threats escalated.
Upon joining the X-Men in the late 1980s during their Australian Outback period, Dazzler retained variations of her blue costume while participating in intense conflicts, including invasions by the Reavers and battles in alien dimensions. This era marked significant personal growth, including her romantic involvement with Longshot, which led to extended adventures in the Mojoverse.
