I haven't had the chance to try it for this, but I've had luck with adding "floating tail" to negative prompts before.
add things like,
tail above anus, animal tail, humanoid tail,
gives me good images for tails tho it doesn't work all the time, but it still helps. in the negative prompt i put
tail in wrong spot, decapitated tail, missing tail, floating tail,
