Semi-Real is honestly a pretty personal project. It’s changed and grown right along with everything else we’ve done in CyberRealistic. At first, we kind of shelved it since there were already tons of semi-realistic models floating around. So it just sat in the lab for a while. Then Pony brought the idea back to life.
Now it’s finally out in the wild. You get a super flexible, expressive SD1.5 model that cranks out awesome results, whether you’re making detailed portraits, trippy landscapes, or even going the NSFW route. Long prompts, short prompts, total chaos with wildcards—it just handles whatever you throw at it and still looks great.
🌈 Why Use It?
Total freedom with style (no stuffy rules about being ultra-realistic)
Works just as well for SFW or NSFW stuff
Super responsive, even if you only give it a couple of words (or go nuts with long prompts)
Comes with its own custom VAE, so colors and tones are dialed in
⚙️ Recommended Settings
Sampling method: Euler a or DPM++2M Karras
Clip skip: 2
VAE: custom made VAE is included but you can use your own VAE like vae-ft-mse-840000-ema-pruned or kl-f8-anime2
Sampling Steps: 16-40
HiRes Upscalers: 4x_foolhardy_Remacri / 2x_KemonoScale_v2
CFG Scale: 4-7
For the best results, it is recommended to use Adetailer (After Detailer) with the face detail model if the face does not look great.❌ Negative Prompt Suggestions

mmmm... samples looks really good, ngl. It doesn't seem sd1.5 at all. I must test this thoroughly. But samples are really impressive to say the least. Mmm... I'm quite intrigued now.
I'm gonna be extremely harsh in my review:
I want a SDXL version of this checkpoint with exactly the same color palette (no blue toned lightning nonsense, please).
Great color palette, great visuals (for SD 1.5). The formula has been perfected to the maximum.
On my book, Semi realistic for SD 1.5 is already hitting the limits of what sd1.5 is capable of. So much it doesn't even look like SD1.5 anymore and punches way above its weight. I don't wanna imagine what a SDXL version could do.
I consider it perfect (within the obvious limitations of sd1.5) as it is. I can't reallistically complain about anything. Which is odd because i really like to complain about things so i feel a little bit frustrated here.
Excellent work through and through.
Issue here is that SD15 learns things differently than SDXL and its hybrids.
Honestly I think image diffusion went a bit too far in too short time and focused on wrong things.
SD15 as it is, paired with right system can do "wonders", only thing actually holding it back is conditioning, in this case meaning text encoder and its very obvious limits.
I mean, you could have FLUX level of pictures, if someone would hook some of modern smart LLMs into SDXL, instead of dumb CLIP-G and even dumber CLIP-L. Except whole image diffusion world focused on upscaling, instead of actually evolving.
So we have gigantic models that somewhat understand what you want and are insanely slow on most HW, instead of having small models, like SD15 with modern LLM, that would actually understand what you want and did that.. and fast.
Yea and obviously, CLIP-L is very much limiter for SD15. SD15 architecture itself has no resolution limit, there are finetunes that can with specific setup create pics right in SDXL territory.
TL:DR - Making same look and other stuff as SD15 in SDXL is very hard, if even possible due architecture differences and mostly due how it learns, maybe possible, but not with same dataset, SD15 looks way it looks cause its SD15. And due its VAE, obviously.
v3.0 is my favorite model & I'm looking forward to trying this one out. Thanks for all your work on these.
