Sawyer From Cats Don't Dance

Sawyer from the movie Cats Don’t Dance (1997), an animated musical comedy set in 1939 Hollywood where animal performers struggle to be treated as more than background extras, is a white female cat who works as Farley Wink’s secretary at Mammoth Pictures and becomes one of the main characters alongside Danny. She is cynical about Hollywood because she has already seen how little respect animal actors receive, warning Danny that talent alone will not let him become a star. In the story she starts as someone who has nearly given up on her own performing dreams, but Danny’s optimism and the animals’ final musical number pull her back into singing and dancing. She is also Danny’s main love interest, with their relationship growing through their shared fight against Darla Dimple’s control over the studio.
