Nefera de Nile from the doll franchise and tv series Monster High (2010), a fashion-doll and animated monster-school franchise about the teenage children of famous monsters, is the older sister of Cleo de Nile and a royal mummy connected to the De Nile family’s Egyptian-inspired theme. Mattel describes her as the daughter of the Mummy and presents her with a Nile-inspired color scheme, wrap-style fashion, Egyptian details, and a pet scarab named Lavish. In the original generation she is usually shown as proud, glamorous, and competitive with Cleo, while newer material softens her into a more supportive older-sister figure. In the series and doll lines she mainly appears through Cleo’s family storyline, school life, fashion releases, and De Nile-centered specials or episodes.
