Is this a new system? Given that being a partner apparently can give a buck per 1,000 Buzz perhaps this can be an alternative? Still, 20k in 3 days may be steep curve to overcome. We'll see what happens.
20k would require 40 early access downloads, less if people use the on-site generation or donate, but yeah, this is new, waiting to see how it performs, I'm keeping the EA duration to the lowest possible so you can still enjoy it without waiting for too long!
@Hoseki Yeah, I probably also been confused by the big numbers. 500 Buzz is something I think most users can afford. The problem is going to be when they have to afford 500 Buzz tens of times per day. Even acquiring 500 Buzz once as a free user is two days of allotment. So we'll see.
Either way, it is an alternative. Still, I wonder if there will be options to prepare for the windfall? I'm a pretty new user all things considered and definitely not that deep into it. Let's say due to bad timing or whatever a model only receives 17k Buzz. Would there be alternatives to solve that? I also feel a lot will be hinging on the integrity and popularity of the particular creator. I wish this would work but we'll have to wait and see.
@MartinMatt The donation goal is optional, basically you can have the model in EA for 10 days, and theoretically get unlimited buzz for it until the countdown is over. Setting a donation goal sets a limit on how much you can make from it.
If I remember correctly, 10 days is the maximum, so users who can't afford it will still be able to download all of these models without having to wait an absurd amount of time.
But yeah, we'll see how it goes!
@MartinMatt If a model doesn't receive enough buzz, it'll just take a bit more time to be released. I understand the concern, waiting isn't fun. You have 10 free trials of on-site generation I think, you'd pay normal buzz amount for the generation
One thing I could do is also lower the download price and keep the donation goal the same. More people would be able to afford it, but it would also require more people to download it before it reaches the goal. I can see pros and cons with both methods.
@HosekiI think the download goal at 500 may be steep. Judging from the amount of downloads so far. It seems to be going up much slower. That being said you are very much pioneer in this atm, so a lot of things need figuring out. Downloads in general tend to go up a lot faster yet... it always tend to be slower when there is a price tag to it. So I dunno, I'm also not the most knowledgeable about the user habits in general. I just see models with 100+ downloads and zero on-site generations. So I figure the on-site generator is more for people like me who don't want to invest in a new computer for a while and just want to figure things out at their own pace.
In fact Nochekaiser set the early access models at 15 days so it can be done for even longer.
I'm sorry that I caused confusion. I do think changing it within a day may be early, for now. I'd have let it ride and see what would be the results. This way you may get skewed statistics. Also a lot of people probably don't realize that generation is at half price. Anyways, I'll try my hand at the LORA today.
@MartinMatt I feel like a full day was enough to get an idea since models get the most visibility within the first 24 hours of being published, I intend to use these prices for the next LoRA, and I'll see how it goes after a day.
I guess prices should also vary depending on the LoRA (characters, outfits, concepts) or if it's a checkpoint.
@Hoseki Most likely. It is a new system and it needs figuring out. To your luck, there are at least a handful creators who also try it. So you can see their feedback on how this worked.
