Our Subject: The classic 1970s Afro has a long and storied history. Its aesthetic, shape and eye catching design is something that is timeless and a well known classic to many. The Afro has meaning and nuance. The Afro is a noted visual aspect of the American Civil Rights Movement. You can educate yourself further on the subject here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Afro

I'm a huge fan of nicely picked and maintained Afros. It is my goal with this LoRA to recreate that particular style of Afro. I think this might be a bit under-cooked to be honest, but I could be wrong...

Warning: First and foremost, this LoRA is a work in progress! New versions may pop up, maybe. Also, beware! Some 1.5 stable diffusion models have difficulty producing this type of Afro with consistency. They will often add dreadlocks or texture that's bizarre in an attempt to present a natural Afro.

Issues/Challenges: None of my LoRA will be particularly easy to use. Be forewarned. Also, it seems that a good deal of my LoRA prefer 2D or 2.5D type models with high capability for realism. This may not be the case for this LoRA as it is tagged differently than my celebrity LoRA. If you are having difficulty keep reading for useful workflow tips.

Useful workflow tips: You will want to adjust the LoRA weight itself. Also explore and adjust trigger word weights. Be adventurous and keep tabs on weight values as you work with your prompt. Using Picked Afro and Natural Afro in the positive prompt, together, is not recommended.

More tips: Explore! Natural Afros and Picked Afros are trained in this LoRA. Consider using one Afro style in the negative prompt for greater control of output. Also, consider Inpainting and Controlnet as well. Inpainting will give greater control on the shape of the Afro hair, while providing better texture and natural looking Afro hair.

Some useful triggers: pickedfro, naturalfro, afro, haircut, hairstyle, (choose one) hair color, (negative prompt: dreadlocks)

Insights: I'm not sure if (high detail hair) is helpful, I may have experienced placebo effect.

Final thoughts: The Anime Afros are fucking fire. And for a final bit of info, Natural Afros in this lora will have loose curls. Picked Afros will look dense and full, but not bulky or bulbous or curly. At least, that's the intention.
