Spritely Ship Turnaround turns one picture of a spaceship into eight views of it. It is a LoRA for Qwen-Image-Edit-2511. The images on this page show the picture I started from next to the sheet Ship Turnaround drew.
This page has three versions, one per tab. Ship Turnaround makes the eight-direction sheet from one picture. Ship Swap swaps one part of the ship for a new one on that sheet. Ship Fit adds a new part, weapon or effect to the ship on that sheet. Each tab has its own file, ComfyUI workflow, prompt and samples.
You provide one picture of a spaceship, a gun turret or a ship part, seen from about three-quarters above, on a plain grey background. Ship Turnaround draws a 3x3 sprite sheet of the same ship turned 8 ways, at the same size and camera angle. The centre cell stays empty. Going clockwise from the top-left cell, the views face north, north-east, east, south-east, south, south-west, west and north-west.
I used it for every ship in my game Unlit Worlds' space fights: 179 ships, 30 gun turrets and a missile. In the game, the ships turn and the guns aim using those eight views. Every sample on this page comes from Unlit Worlds.
What it does well:
The ship stays the same size in every view, at the same camera angle.
I trained it only on ship parts and turrets, and it still turns whole ships around.
Each sheet takes about two minutes on a rented RTX A6000.
Known limits:
Sometimes you get four views instead of eight, so check every sheet.
I only tested one setup: 768x768 input pictures, 1152x1152 sheets, 24 steps, CFG 5.5 and the LoRA at strength 1.0.
There's a ComfyUI workflow in the downloads, spritely-ship-turnaround-comfyui.zip. It uses only stock ComfyUI nodes, and its sheets match the diffusers ones, though the first view can start one step around.
How to use it:
Picture 1 is one ship, gun turret or ship part on a plain grey (#808080) background, seen from about three-quarters above. My pictures were 768x768.
Copy the prompt below word for word. It starts with the trigger word shiplora_partturn. I used the same prompt for whole ships, turrets and parts.
Run at 1152x1152, 24 steps, CFG 5.5 (true CFG in diffusers), with a single space as the negative prompt and the LoRA at strength 1.0.
shiplora_partturn. Draw the single spaceship part in image 1 alone as an eight-direction isometric turnaround sprite sheet. Use a fixed 3 by 3 grid on a flat grey background, with the centre cell empty. Going clockwise from the top-left cell: north, north-east, east, south-east, south, south-west, west, north-west. Turn the same part 45 degrees clockwise at each heading. Preserve its shape, colours, markings and details, with one shared scale and its pivot centred in every cell. Do not add a ship or other parts.License: Spritely Model License v1, https://spritely.studio/model-license. It governs this file. You may not share, re-upload, sell or host this model. Description
Ship Fit v1 adds a new part, weapon or effect to a ship on a whole eight-direction sprite sheet. Put small magenta dots where the part goes in every view, give it a picture of the part, and say in the prompt what the part is and where it goes.
Base model: Qwen-Image-Edit-2511 (listed under Qwen on Civitai). There is no trigger word. Here is the prompt for the fuel pods sample:
Fit the module from image 2 onto the ship in all 8 directions of the sprite sheet in image 1, at the magenta markers: a gold and brown pair of outrigger fuel pods, one on each side of the hull in the middle, on struts. Keep the ship, the 8 directions and everything else the same. For an effect like a shield you do not need markers. Here is the prompt for the cyan shield sample:
Add the effect from image 2 to the ship in all 8 directions of the sprite sheet in image 1: a glowing cyan energy shield, around the whole ship, following its outline with a small gap. Keep the ship, the 8 directions and everything else the same. How to use it:
Picture 1 is your ship sheet, 1152x1152: the ship in eight directions on a 3x3 grid with the centre cell empty, like the sheets Ship Turnaround makes. Put a small magenta dot where the part goes in every view.
Picture 2 is the part, weapon or effect on its own, 768x768.
Write the prompt the same way as the samples: what to fit, its colours, and where it goes on the ship. Every sample on this page shows its own prompt.
Run at 1152x1152, 24 steps, CFG 5.5 (true CFG in diffusers), with a single space as the negative prompt and the LoRA at strength 1.0. Both pictures are scaled to 1024x1024 before they are encoded. Every sample used seed 11.
Known limits:
Parts often come out smaller and simpler than in picture 2.
Gun barrels can point a different way from one view to the next.
Shields come out wider and rounder than the ship outline.
ComfyUI: download spritely-ship-fit-comfyui.zip, drag the .json into ComfyUI and follow its README for the model files. It has the same settings, uses only stock nodes, and comes with an example ship and part.
LoRA rank 32, trained with musubi-tuner at 1152x1152. The file is bf16 and its keys start with diffusion_model.
