Prompt Vault Desktop keeps the text prompts you write for image generators, together with the picture each one produced, in one encrypted file on your own PC. Find a prompt months later instead of digging through old chats, folders and PNG metadata.

What it does

- Save prompts with a negative prompt, reference image, seed, generation size and ratio, tags and notes

- Image import from ComfyUI: add the free Prompt Vault Card nodes to your workflow, then drop the saved PNGs onto Prompt Vault. Each card fills itself in: prompt, negative, seed, size, ratio, model, LoRAs (only the ones actually in use), sampler settings, category, tags and credit

- Generation settings and credit (prompt author, author URL, image source URL) kept with every prompt, and searchable

- Variants: keep up to 10 related prompts on one card (the same scene at dusk, at night, in a storm), each with its own image. Flick through them on the card or in the full-size image viewer

- Drag one card onto another to fold it in as a variant, or pin a card and queue many into it at once

- Categories, search across every variant, tag filters and adjustable card size

- One-click Copy, ready to paste into ComfyUI, A1111, Forge or anything else

- Several vaults, each with its own passphrase

- Encrypted backups you can move between PCs, merged or replaced on import, plus three automatic safety copies

Try it in a minute

The download includes six sample PNGs in the samples folder. Drag them onto the Library and they import as six complete cards, settings and credit included.

Private by design

Everything stays on your PC: no account, no server, no internet connection, and no telemetry. The whole library is one file encrypted with AES-256 under your passphrase. The passphrase is never stored, so keep it safe: it can't be recovered.

Requirements

- Windows 10 or 11

- Python 3.10 or newer, used once to build the program (free from python.org)

Getting started

1. Download and extract the zip.

2. Open the folder, click the address bar, type cmd and press Enter.

3. Run py -m pip install -r requirements.txt, then build_exe.bat.

4. Copy the finished dist\PromptVault folder somewhere permanent and run PromptVault.exe.

The full user guide is in the docs folder, with step-by-step build instructions and screenshots of every screen. The built program is portable: copy the folder to another PC or a USB stick and it runs there without Python.

Windows may warn Windows protected your PC the first time, because the program isn't code-signed. Click More info, then Run anyway. The full source is included, so you can read it before building.
