ZOLTAN BOROS & GABOR SZIKSZAI — EPIC FANTASY & MTG ILLUSTRATION | LoRA (Krea2)

One weight slider — and the frame transforms into the epic, cinematic fantasy illustrations of two of Magic: The Gathering's most celebrated contemporary artists. No soft pastels, no delicate brushwork: this is the world of visceral magic, dramatic lighting, and monumental scale, where planeswalkers channel lightning through steel gauntlets, ancient dragons dominate storm-filled skies, and every brushstroke carries the weight of mythic conflict.

About the Artists & The Style

• Zoltan Boros & Gabor Szikszai are a Hungarian artist duo (often credited as "Boros & Szikszai") who have produced hundreds of iconic illustrations for Magic: The Gathering, Pathfinder, and other fantasy properties since the early 2000s.

• Signature Concept: Cinematic epic fantasy at monumental scale. Their work reads like key frames from blockbuster fantasy films — every composition is designed for maximum dramatic impact.

• The Manner: Traditional oil painting foundation with digital finishing. Heavy impasto on armor and magical effects, sharp detailed rendering on faces and weapons, and masterful use of dramatic lighting (often from below or the side) to create heroic silhouettes.

• Palette & Light: Deep earth tones (umber, sienna, ochre), blood-crimson accents, steel blue, gold leaf highlights, and deep shadow blacks. Lighting is always dramatic — torchlight, lightning, magical glow, or sunset rim light that sculpts every form.

• The Subjects: Planeswalkers channeling elemental magic, armored warriors in battle, ancient dragons, gothic horror, eldritch abominations, mystical landscapes, and mythic creatures. Strictly adult characters — mature warriors, battle-scarred veterans, powerful sorcerers.
