WET — Dry ↔ Wet Slider

We trained several versions of this because apparently “make it wet” is a more complicated instruction than civilization was prepared for.

WET controls the visual evidence that a subject, object or eventually the entire goddamned world has become wet.

The fun part is the low end.

This isn't just an OFF → MONSOON switch. Between roughly +0.15 and +1.0, there's a surprisingly useful progression: subtle skin sheen appears, fine moisture develops, hair loses dry volume and starts forming damp strands, droplets and trails emerge, fabric begins reacting, and eventually the subject looks properly soaked.

Different materials give the model different ways to spend the Wet.

Skin shines. Hair clumps. Fur loses fluff. Fabric darkens and clings. Hard surfaces bead and reflect. Absorbent materials soak. And if you keep turning the knob, Ragnarok eventually concludes that localized wetness is cowardice and starts involving the weather.

We tested faces, clothing, difficult-to-wet clothing, objects, animals and assorted innocent materials. We have caused rain. We have caused unreasonable quantities of rain.

At sufficient weight, we can melt witches.

    The Wetness Scale

0 — Whatever the checkpoint had planned before we interfered.

+0.15 — Moist. There, we said it.

+0.3 — Definitely damp. Skin sheen and early moisture evidence become noticeable.

+0.5 — Somebody has encountered water. Hair and skin are increasingly convinced.

+0.7 — Properly wet. Damp strands, droplets and material response become much more obvious.

+1.0 — WET. This is around the top of the sensible everyday range for many prompts.

+1 to +2 — Wetness begins escaping containment. Clothing, nearby surfaces and eventually the environment may join the festivities.

+2 — Brother Noah has started measuring lumber.

+3 — Heavy liquid coating. Rain is common. The distinction between wet subject and hydrological event is deteriorating rapidly.

    +4 — MELT THE WITCH.

Negative weights push toward dry, smooth and often cleaner/polished interpretations.

    Important: use the decimal places

If you're testing this slider at 0, +1, +2, +3, you're skipping much of the good stuff.

    Try:

    0 → +0.15 → +0.3 → +0.5 → +0.7 → +1.0

That's where you can watch the checkpoint progressively recruit different evidence of moisture rather than immediately drowning everybody.

After +1, proceed according to taste, waterproofing and proximity to an ark.

Good things to get wet: faces, hair, T-shirts, suits, swimsuits, fur, cardboard, pavement, cars, plants, fabric, statues and anything else that has lived too comfortable a life.
