About the Artist
Duane Bryers (1911–2012) — American illustrator of the Kansas City school; painted advertising, calendars and personal work for over five decades.

Today Hilda is celebrated as an early body-positive icon — flirtatious, self-assured, never objectified; the humor is affectionate and human.
