How an idea became a project in a flash ...
Flash photography is not necessarily the most beautiful way to depict people or objects, but it is the most honest. Ruthless, nostalgic, dirty and cold. The brief, blunt moment in the flow of time, captured by a harsh flash. Now available for Stable Diffusion.
This LoRA is the converted version of an idea to make images not "beautiful", but ... different. It is only used to make people or things visible in a dark environment.
The correct application for it is therefore clearly in the images of:
night situations (streets, alleys, parks, ...)
dark rooms (discos, clubs, cellars, apartments without electricity, ...)
generally dark places (forest, caves, castles? ... )
A bright sunny beach rather not (although that might even be possible under some circumstances). :)
The LoRA was created with SD v1.5, but I recommend the use of other photorealistic 1.5 checkpoints. First of all Analog Madness v3.
The style brings partly a little analog colors and a certain blurriness with it. This is quite intentional. The majority of the images were trained with Polaroids and the like. Not every one of them was pin sharp.
It was trained without references to people, animals or objects. It should therefore be quite flexible. However, it may be that a little more prompting is needed for the one or the other checkpoint.
The model has a slight tendency to represent asian ethnicities. With some minor prompting this can be counteracted.
This project will continue to evolve and everyone can contribute. Anyone who has flash images and would like to provide them, please feel free to contact me.
And now ... get flashed!

been waiting for this saw your pics on reddit
Now you can flash on ... :)
You forgot to include your grandma in the kitchen images.
Unfortunately, I can only post 20 images, but one is included ... :D
Thanks for this, I hate having to switch between models that know how to make camera flash images and then back to other models.
I'm glad it can help you out.
which models make good flash cam images?
@texaspartygirl For the previews I used Analog Madness v3 and Life Like Diffusion. But most "realistic" models should work.
@woisek thank you!
@texaspartygirl You are welcome! Have fun with it.
I love anything that makes pics look more realistic, amazing job!
Thank you! :) Have fun with it.
fk me...was wondering what the heck was the relationship between the images in the post and fleshlight
A "flashlight" is not what is used in flash photography.
but it does show the light from a flash
@Verticillium yes, that's a flash light, while a flashlight is a lightsaber-looking thingy people use to lighten up dark areas when russians destroy your power grid with cruise missiles and suicide drones. I've seen neighbours use the manual ones, I had the one built-in into phone. IIRC, moden smartphones use same diode for both flashlight and photo flash, but the former word is used when talking about a pointed light thingy you use in your hand. Called torch in Bri'ish.
OK, nitpicking here ... :)
I know it's called flash, strobe or speedlite ... I'm a photographer, I know that. But it just settled this way into my mind while working on it and I just used it that way. But that shouldn't stop you from using it to create ... flash images. :) Just have fun with it.
what model did u use for samples?
For the previews I used Analog Madness v3 and Life Like Diffusion. But most "realsitic" models should work.
Great Lora (and werecreature prompt), I used it for a Deforum clip: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BjddmiG-6lQ
I like it.
The few tests were interesting.
The only problem I see is the trigger word, because sometimes it shows flashlights on the hands of the subjects. I suggest looking for a unique word.
Thanks for the feedback. Could you maybe provide one or two examples of this, together with prompt and model used?
@woisek Hi, you can see it on the "Dawrfs" gallery. When I tried to reproduce it it didn´t show many times. It´s not a real problem, but I wanted to warn you for your future models. :)
@Blacksmith Allright, thanks for this info. I will consider this in v2.
@woisek Thanks to you, for your creation. Clowns are quite interesting with this LORA. XD
@Blacksmith Yes, it's really good. I love the Dwarfs. :D Thanks for posting!
totally messes up male faces for me, any idea how to resolve?
Maybe lowering the strength? Could you show an example and tell what prompt and model you used?
This is really nice, but unfortunately it does not work well with LORAs or Embeddings of specific people. Great for random pics though.
