Beck from the comic La Théorie du K.O. (2023), a French action and science fiction global-comic by Mathieu Reynès set after climate and health crises, the Green Riots, and a society divided between secured megacities and more natural enclaves, is the main heroine of the story. Raised since childhood on an isolated island by Wade, a martial arts master, Beck grows up apart from the fractured modern world until he disappears during a supply trip to the continent. Determined to find him, she leaves the island and arrives in places like Bajara, where her lack of knowledge about society contrasts with her exceptional martial arts ability. Her story begins when she enters underground arena combat outside the official UWC circuit, facing enhanced fighters and gradually becoming involved in a much larger conflict tied to the world’s political, medical, and social systems.
