About the Experiment

This post is part of an experiment to observe the behavior of an automated model mirroring system operated by another AI platform.

Observations So Far

The following points are based on my own observations. Some are confirmed by direct observation, while others are my own hypotheses.

• The platform publicly states that it operates an automated system that mirrors models published on Civitai.

• Models are mirrored automatically regardless of whether the original creator requested or approved the mirroring.

• If ownership of a mirrored account has previously been transferred to the original creator, the automatically mirrored model becomes associated with that creator's account. This behavior was confirmed during this experiment.

• Although duplicate model uploads are normally prevented, the automated mirroring system appears able to create duplicate entries even when the same model already exists.

• Since a mirrored model is not mirrored again after being deleted, I suspect that the system maintains a database of previously mirrored models.

The purpose of this experiment is to investigate what information that database uses to identify and determine whether a model should be mirrored.

What Was Done in This Experiment

The following steps were performed.

• Upload a dummy file and wait for the automated mirroring system to mirror it.

• After confirming the mirroring, remove the dummy file and replace it with the actual LoRA.

• Keep the same model page and version information (without publishing a new version) while replacing only the file, then observe how the mirroring system responds.

Interim Report

Approximately one week has passed since I replaced the uploaded file, and so far the replacement LoRA has not been automatically mirrored.
It is still too early to draw a definitive conclusion, but based on the observations so far, it appears that:

If a change is not recognized by Civitai as an update, the automatic mirroring system may also be unable to detect or synchronize that change.

For this experiment, I intentionally left the model page and version information unchanged and replaced only the uploaded file.

今回の実験は、そのデータベースが何を基準としてモデルを識別・管理しているのかを調べることを目的としています。

今回の実験内容

今回行った内容は以下の通りです。

• ダミーファイルを投稿し、自動転載システムによる転載を待つ。

• 転載を確認後、ダミーファイルを削除し、本来のLoRAファイルへ差し替える。

• 投稿ページやバージョン情報は変更せず、ファイルのみを差し替えた場合に、自動転載システムがどのような挙動を示すかを確認する。

中間報告

ファイルを差し替えてから約1週間ほど経過しましたが、現時点では差し替え後のLoRAファイルが自動転載されることは確認できていません。
まだ観察期間が短いため断定はできませんが、現時点の結果を見る限りでは、

Civitai側で「更新」として認識されない変更については、自動転載（ミラーリング）システム側も検知・反映できない可能性がある

という可能性が考えられます。
