Tifa Lockhart (Japanese: ティファ・ロックハート, Tifa Rokkuhāto) is the protagonist of the role-playing game Final Fantasy VII (1997) by Square (now Square Enix).

Tifa was originally conceived as a foil to Aerith Gainsborough and was introduced late in development.

She is a childhood friend of Cloud Strife. They grew up in Nibelheim, where a tragic incident occurred that changed their lives.

She is the owner of the Seventh Heaven bar in the Midgar slums, which serves as the headquarters of AVALANCHE.

She is a member of AVALANCHE, a terrorist group fighting against the Shinra Corporation, which is draining Mako energy from the planet.
