Luis Barragán (1902–1988) is a major 20th-century architect, winner of the Pritzker Prize, known for a style blending modernism and Mexican tradition, characterized by simple geometric forms, bright colors (pink, yellow, blue), a very elaborate use of natural light, a strong integration of nature (gardens, patios, pools) and a calm, almost spiritual atmosphere, as can be seen in the Casa Luis Barragán.
