This is listed as an SDXL Lora, but is really Illustrious based. Works well on WAI, as shown in the examples
As mentioned in the comment, SDXL works, but it is recommended to use it in conjunction with WAI.
@diona_channel
I think you misunderstood, if not, sorry for unnecessary comment.
The description box, the one that is on the right from preview images, says SDXL.

Base Model - SDXL 1.0 <<----

Why this matters?
1) Usually LoRA for one model, might not work well with other models.
So people who use Illustrious might not want to download it.
2) There are filters for models.
When you look at/search uploaded models, you can filter them.
So, for example, someone who only uses Illustrious or NAI or FLUX, could have enabled filters to see only those models.
That means the website will not show them your model, because they are looking only at Illustrious or NAI or FLUX models.
#This means, if your model was trained by using ^Illustrious^, that is you did not choose ^SDXL 1.0 (SDXL base model)^ when training, You should change "Base Model - SDXL 1.0" to --> "Base Model - Illustrious"
I finally understand. Because I was using the SDXL version of WAI, I had mistakenly thought that SDXL was the best option. Indeed, when I looked at WAI, I saw that Illustrious was the base model. I would not have noticed if you hadn't pointed it out, so I'm very grateful for your comment. By the way, what should I name it...?
@diona_channel
By the name do you mean "MoeMoeSDXL"?
(/the title, you can still change it)
Also probably for the LoRA safetensors file name in the future versions.
No one will force you, so it is your decision.
But you can add Illustious at the end -> MoeMoeI_llustrious
You decide.
1) If you have tried it on some other Illustrious models, and you think it works/looks good, -> add to the name Illustrious
You can/should still mention in the description, that it was trained on WAI-Illustrious (and maybe also which one) , because the LoRA will work best with that model.
2) If you think it does not look good on other models, add to the name WAI-Illustrious
Then there will be less chance that someone complains about bad results.
** You will probably get the most people trying/downloading the model if you name it _llustrious , because then they will think it will work with other models that are Illustrious based (models with Illustrious as ancestor)
If you name it WAI-Illustrious, there might be less downloads, because people might think it will not work well with other Illustrious models
*&* not every checkpoint/base model that says it is Illustrious based will work well with other Illustrious LoRAs, that is normal, but you should see at least some kind of effect.
@Elsif
Thank you for your advice. This is my first time using CivitAI, so it was very helpful to have you point out the incorrect naming. I've decided to name it "MoeMoe-Illustrious." However, the file name is still "moemoe-sdxl," which needs to be corrected, and I don't like names that are too long, so I think "moemoe-illust" would be acceptable. Alternatively, I could just go with "moemoe." What kind of naming is preferred in CivitAI?
@diona_channel
I do not think there is a preferred naming system in CivitAI.
I think you are doing things mostly correctly.
Probably follow these principles.
- The name should help you understand what it is.
For style - the artists name, for concept - a word that describes it.
- Probably do include what base model it is made from.
It can be very short, il for illustrious, would be fine.
This will help if you decide to make the same style for different checkpoints/base models.
xyz-il, xyz-nai.
And it is easier for people to organize their files.
- This is not so important, but maybe think about it.
If you think a different creator could have same file name as yours, maybe add something, even if short, otherwise, if you download 3 different style LoRA from different people, all 3 are named xyz-il, xyz-il, xyz-il
People who download files, can rename them, but this makes things easier.
@Elsif Thank you for your advice. I hadn't considered the possibility that other creators might have used the same name. It's certainly easier to organize files if they have unique file names. I'll think about whether I can come up with a suitable file name.
